Please do follow our aftercare instructions to enhance the life of your furniture!
Each of our wooden products is 100% handcrafted from solid wood, making every piece unique and individual.
As timber is a natural, living material, it is important to care for it properly to maintain its longevity and appearance.
- Avoid exposure to heat and sunlight: Do not place wooden furniture in direct sunlight or close to radiators, heaters, or other heat sources. Exposure may cause the timber to expand, shrink, or fade.
- Preserve with beeswax: For non-painted wooden surfaces, we recommend occasional polishing with natural beeswax to maintain a healthy sheen and protect the wood.
- Water and heat protection: Natural wood is not waterproof or heat-resistant. Always use coasters, placemats, or trivets under hot dishes or drinks to prevent stains and damage.
- No harsh chemicals: Spills should be wiped immediately with a clean, lint-free cloth. Avoid using commercial or chemical-based cleaners, as they may damage the wood’s surface.
- Humidity considerations: In Australian climates, keep furniture in well-ventilated, temperature-controlled spaces where possible to avoid timber movement or cracking due to excessive dryness or moisture.
Proper care of upholstered pieces helps maintain appearance and extend product life.
- Regular cleaning: Gently vacuum your upholstery with a soft brush attachment to remove dust and everyday dirt. A periodic full clean is recommended to reduce premature fading or wear.
- Spills and stains: Never rub or soak fabric. If a spill occurs, blot immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Do not let stains dry or use proprietary or household cleaners, as these may damage the material. Contact a professional upholstery cleaner for persistent stains.
- Cushion care: Plump and rotate cushions regularly to maintain their shape and comfort.
- Sunlight warning: Keep upholstered items away from direct sunlight, as it may cause colours to fade over time.
Our rugs are crafted using natural materials, and gentle maintenance will keep them in excellent condition.
- Routine cleaning: Use a suction-type vacuum cleaner. Light dirt or marks can be cleaned using a damp cloth. Do not machine wash or dry clean.
- Spills: Act quickly. Lay the rug flat and blot any liquid with a white paper towel or absorbent cloth. For stains that persist, seek professional advice and avoid chemical cleaners.
- Wool rug shedding: Rugs made with 80% wool and 20% cotton may shed fibres initially—this is normal. Regular vacuuming will help manage this without impacting the rug’s lifespan.
- Pilling/Sprouting: Occasionally, longer threads may appear in the rug pile. Trim these gently with sharp scissors; never pull them, as it may damage the weave.
- Creases from packaging: Rugs may have lines or creases when first unrolled. These are temporary and will disappear over time with regular use and vacuuming.
Packaging Details
Rugs are securely rolled around a cardboard tube, with protective caps on both ends and a plastic outer layer. Two cardboard pieces are used under string ties to avoid pressure marks. Each rug is then placed in a reusable drawstring fabric bag for extra protection and ease of handling.
Please note: Rugs may take a few weeks to lay completely flat after unrolling. This is a normal process and not a defect.
